MyFoxAustin hosts really great video about Greenlights event

I had lunch with Mando Rayo today. He’s the director of Hands On Central Texas. Somehow the topic came up about how he explains what he does to his family. “They wind up thinking I’m a volunteer,” he said.

It can be hard to explain what a nonprofiteer does, exactly. And when you start talking about your work at the more advanced level, people start tilting their heads. Next time, direct them to this video about the Greenlights Crossroads event, held Sept 25 and the Austin Convention Center.

It not only helps explain what nonprofiteers do all day, but it gives people the impression that these are actually REAL jobs, not volunteer posts. And if that doesn’t work, just tell them you work for Dell and move on.
